IMMAN MEFFERT (IN SUHL) 16-BORE LEFAUCHEUX PATENT FORWARD-FACING UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 17491, circa 1870, 27 3/4in. black powder reproved damascus barrels, rib engraved 'IMMAN. MEFFERT IN SUHL', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. in both, Lefaucheux patent horn forward facing underlever, permanently attached fore-end, carved serpentine fences, rebounding locks (reblued hammers loose, replacement pins) with button strikers, set front trigger, horn pistolgrip, border and foliate engraving interspersed with game scene vignettes, brushed and reblued finish, 13 1/4in, stock with cheekpiece, steel buttplate, weight 6lb. 11oz.
